Lumpy Banger

Lumpy Banger was recorded at the Experimental Television Center, in Owego, in a single session in June 1985. Lumpy Banger was a nickname, it had been with me for a while when I was young. I hadn’t thought about it for a long time, and though I never planned to use the name, upon finishing this piece I couldn’t resist.
Lumpy Banger displays joy and excitement, though at the same time it reveals frustration and rage. It is meant to be playful in its combination of emotions and is a graphic symbol for a side of life. At 1:04 minutes LB was cut extremely tight. Especially since the range of material from this session was rich. Later I made a 10 minute cut of this series that was used in the installation/ video object with the same name.
